Weekly Training – 2/14/11 – 2/20/11
The build continues! With the Northeast Snowshoe Championships only a week away and the U.S. National Snowshoe Championships less than 3 weeks away, I’ve really pushing my body to the limit in hopes of a high peak at race time. All of this effort has added up to a new weekly record of 18 hours, 10 minutes and 37 seconds of training! Continue reading

Weekly Training 2/7/11 – 2/13/11

Weekly Training 1/31/11 – 2/6/11
The week started off with a taper for the Empire State Building Run Up. All of the long hours of cross training these past 6 weeks seems to have paid off as I shaved 44 seconds off my best time in the race and finished as the 1st American and 4th overall. Wow! That was unexpected! Continue reading

VanOrden 1st American at Empire State Building Run Up
NEW YORK CITY, NY (February 1st, 2011) – Tim Van Orden, 42, of Bennington, Vermont rose to the occasion at the 34th running of the Empire State Building Run Up on Tuesday morning with an exceptional 4th place finish. Van Orden was the top American finisher and won the Masters division for the second straight year, earning him the title of the ‘World’s fastest stair climber over the age of forty’.
