In order to be prepared for the upcoming Mt. Baldy race (8 miles – 6,000′ to 10,000′ ascent) on September 3rd, I’ve started to incorporate runs at high elevation into my schedule. Los Angeles County offers some of the best high elevation training in the country, with hundreds of miles of mountain trails at elevations from 4,000 to over 10,000′.
My new plan includes camping every weekend at altitude to take advantage of the scenery and training.
