The week started off slowly, due to an illness over the weekend. Fearing for my lungs, I kept indoors a good bit and ran on the dreaded treadmill. In order to make this tolerable I built a stand to hold my laptop above the treadmill. The films “Salt” and “The Social Network” helped to keep my mind occupied, but this was only after a failed attempt to watch “The Road“. This might be the only film I’ve ever seen that was more unbearable than the treadmill itself.
I finished the week up strong with some very solid workouts and two great snowshoe races. With the Empire State Building Run Up only a week away, I didn’t want to taper for these races, and trained right through them. On Sunday, after a grueling snowshoe race at Constitution Hill, I smashed my Tabata leg press record yet again. I am without a doubt, in the best shape of my life.
