What started out as a very solid week of training, crashed and burned as I came down with a stomach bug Thursday afternoon. A combination of hard training, lack of sleep and stress have put me in a rather weakened state. Although I did well in the snowshoe race on Sunday, I could feel that it tapped my immune system and weakened me some more. With less that two weeks until the Empire State Building run up, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to put in the quality training required to have a top five finish this year. Being in peak form is a fine line to tread and I hope that I can heal and maintain my shape at the same time.
